A New Fun Ride With A Nostalgic Twist From The 90s

Turbogems, the action puzzler from IronCode Software, takes the classic gameplay from the arcade hit Xixit and elevates it to euphoric new heights.

Bangalore, India - September 10, 2007: Ironcode Software today announces Turbogems, a game inspired by that arcade classic from the past, Xixit. If you haven't tried your hand at this game yet, the goal is to match the gems falling into the playing area by color before they overflow the playing area. If that happens, the game is over.

There is more to Turbogems than just making matches, however. The game challenges the player to excel, and awards trophies for doing so. Trophies are awarded, for example, for matching five blocks or for exploding three bombs in one move. The biggest trophy that can be won is the "Master of the Universe", which is awarded when the player has collected all the other trophies.

Along with the Classic mode, there is the Super Match mode. The catch in the latter is the tiles in the background that the player must remove by making matches nearby. There is yet another mode called Power Stacker that challenges you to stack the falling blocks to match a requested shape. The choice of three modes adds replayability to an already engrossing game.

In terms of visuals, Turbogems is a looker. It shines with superb space graphics, beautiful scrolling background, stars, planets and asteroids. The game utilizes 3D to deliver spectacular special effects, such as laser blasts and meteor storms that contribute cinematic flare to the game.

The music of the game has been written by Jean-Marc Lederman, who has composed music for hit casual games such as "Fairies", "Atlantis", and "Mystic Inn".

Turbogems is one of those five-minute diversions that you play for a quick break but somehow end up clicking away on for two hours. Enjoy!
